The Beauty of Nature
Very close to the Šumik Estate lies the Šumik nature reserve in all its greatness, with the Lobnica Valley and the waterfalls Mali and Veliki Šumik.
A part of the reserve is a protected virgin forest, which has not been touched by humans, and therefore, it could preserve everything that it has created.
The Pohorje mountains offers a home to some 90 bird species, game animals, more than 700 butterfly species and other small mammals, reptiles, bugs, molluscs, and fish. Among the unique and indigenous animals of Pohorje we find western capercaillie, rabbit, dormouse, marten, pheasant, deer, and chamois.
